For reference, I'm running windows 10 with an Nvidia. All the mods I installed through NMM can be installed through Wrye Bash or manually to. Wierdly enough the human textures only seem to work after I uninstall and reinstall the game. If you plan to install things differently to how I suggest and want to use Wryebash installer instead, don’ touch NMM. So I downloaded the character overhaul mod as well as the OBSE and the Blockhead plugin, but despite all of that, for some reason my humans, khajit, and argonians work like a dream but, my orcs and elves still get the 'Install Blockhead' texture.
